The System Configuration page contains global settings that control the overall behavior of your InstiKit installation.

Most options on this page affect the entire application. Changes are applied to all users unless otherwise specified.

InstiKit System Config

Important

Modify these settings carefully. Incorrect configuration may affect the appearance, behavior, security, or accessibility of the application for all users.

Setup Wizard

Show Setup Wizard

Enable this option to display the initial setup wizard.

The setup wizard helps administrators complete important configurations after a fresh installation.

Once your application has been fully configured, this option can be disabled.

Localization

Localization settings determine how dates, times, currencies, and user interface elements are displayed throughout the application.

Locale

Select the default language used by the application.

All users will see the selected language unless multilingual support is configured.

Direction

Choose the text direction used by the interface.

Available options typically include:

  • Left to Right (LTR)
  • Right to Left (RTL)

RTL should be used only for languages such as Arabic, Persian, or Urdu.

All dates and times displayed within the application are based on this timezone.

Depending on your installation, multiple color themes may be available.

Users can usually change this on individual pages if permitted.

  • Forgot Password page

Enable Dark Theme

Enable this option to allow users to switch between light and dark themes.

If disabled, only the default light theme will be available.

Currency Settings

Allowed Currencies

Select the currencies that can be used within the application.

Only selected currencies will be available where currency selection is supported.

Default Currency

This currency will be used throughout the application unless another currency is explicitly selected.

Security

Enable Strong Password

Require users to create passwords that meet stronger security requirements.

A strong password typically includes a combination of:

  • Uppercase letters
  • Lowercase letters
  • Numbers
  • Special characters

Enabling this option is highly recommended.

Whitelist IPs

Specify IP addresses that are allowed to access the application.

Separate multiple IP addresses using commas or new lines, depending on your configuration.

When a whitelist is configured, only listed IP addresses can access the application.

Use this option only if your organization has fixed public IP addresses.

Blacklist IPs

Specify IP addresses that should be blocked from accessing the application.

This is useful for preventing access from known malicious or unwanted IP addresses.

Progressive Web App (PWA)

InstiKit can be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on supported browsers and devices.

When enabled, users can install the application directly from their browser and enjoy a more app-like experience.

Enable or disable Progressive Web App support.

PWA Theme Color

Choose the primary theme color used by installed Progressive Web Apps.

This color is displayed in browser chrome and operating system UI elements.

PWA Background Color

Select the background color displayed while the application is loading.

These settings control the footer displayed throughout the application.

Show Version Number

Displays the current InstiKit version in the application footer.

Keeping the version visible can make troubleshooting and support easier.

Customize the footer text displayed at the bottom of every page.

Many organizations use this area to display:

  • Organization name
  • Copyright information
  • Website
  • Custom credits

Maintenance Mode

Maintenance Mode temporarily restricts access to the application.

When enabled:

  • Administrators can continue to log in.
  • All other users are prevented from logging into the application.

This feature is useful when:

  • Upgrading the application
  • Performing server maintenance
  • Migrating data
  • Troubleshooting system issues

Remember to disable Maintenance Mode once maintenance has been completed.

Author Support

InstiKit includes a secure support feature that allows the support team to access your application without requiring your administrator password.

Enable Author Support

When enabled, a new Support option appears in the user profile menu.

Administrators can use this feature to generate a one-time support token.

The support team can use this token to log in as the administrator for troubleshooting purposes.
