Feature Configuration

Enable or disable optional features and configure feature-specific settings for your entire organization.

General 3 min read

The Feature Configuration page allows you to enable or disable optional features available in InstiKit.

Feature settings are applied globally across your organization. Once a feature is enabled or disabled, the change affects all branches, campuses, and users within the application.

Some features also provide additional configuration options, such as instructions, descriptions, or required document lists.

InstiKit Feature Config

Important

Feature configuration is applied at the organization level. Individual branches cannot enable or disable these features independently.

Enabling or Disabling Features

Each feature can be enabled or disabled using the corresponding toggle switch.

When a feature is disabled:

  • Related menus are hidden.
  • Users cannot access the feature.
  • Related public pages become unavailable.

When enabled, the feature immediately becomes available throughout the application.

Available Features

The list of available features may vary depending on your InstiKit edition and installed modules.

Some commonly available features include:

  • Todo
  • Backup
  • Activity Log
  • Guest Payment
  • Online Enquiry
  • Online Registration
  • Job Application
  • Posts
  • Transfer Certificate Verification

Additional features may be added in future releases.

Feature Instructions

Some features include an Instruction editor.

This content is displayed to end users before they access or submit the corresponding feature.

The editor supports rich text formatting, allowing you to include:

  • Headings
  • Bold and italic text
  • Lists
  • Hyperlinks
  • Important notes

Use this section to provide clear instructions and reduce incomplete or incorrect submissions.

Online Registration Instructions

If Online Registration is enabled, you can provide instructions that applicants should read before submitting the registration form.

Examples include:

  • Eligibility criteria
  • Registration guidelines
  • Admission process
  • Payment instructions
  • Important deadlines
  • Terms and conditions

Providing clear instructions helps applicants complete the registration process correctly.

Online Enquiry Instructions

Provide information that visitors should read before submitting an enquiry.

Examples include:

  • Office timings
  • Response time
  • Contact information
  • Available programs
  • Admission enquiry guidelines

Guest Payment Instructions

If Guest Payment is enabled, you can provide payment instructions for parents or visitors.

Examples include:

  • Accepted payment methods
  • Reference number requirements
  • Refund policy
  • Important payment notes

Job Application Instructions

If your organization accepts online job applications, use this section to guide applicants.

Examples include:

  • Required qualifications
  • Recruitment process
  • Resume format
  • Interview process
  • Important instructions for applicants

Transfer Certificate Verification Instructions

Provide instructions for users verifying Transfer Certificates online.

Examples include:

  • How to enter certificate details
  • Verification process
  • Contact information for discrepancies

Required Documents

Some features, such as Online Registration, allow you to specify mandatory documents.

Enter document names as a comma-separated list.

Example:

transfer_certificate, marksheet, birth_certificate, aadhaar_card, passport_photo

During submission, applicants will be required to upload the specified documents.

This helps ensure that all required documents are collected during the registration process.

Best Practices

When configuring features:

  • Enable only the features your organization actively uses.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions.
  • Keep required document lists up to date.
  • Review public-facing instructions periodically.
  • Disable features that are no longer required.

Important Notes

  • Feature settings affect the entire organization.
  • Changes take effect immediately after saving.
  • Disabling a feature does not delete its existing data.
  • Previously submitted records remain available unless removed separately.

Saving Changes

After updating the feature configuration, click Save to apply the changes.

We recommend reviewing the corresponding public pages after enabling or disabling a feature to ensure they appear as expected.
