Select the audience for each announcement
Choose all students or narrow the student audience to a division, class, or section. For staff notices, choose all employees or select departments and designations.
For example, the office can prepare an activity notice for one section and a separate meeting notice for teaching staff. Audience selection gives the school a practical way to organise updates around the people involved.
Announcements also support a public option and a short excerpt for notices intended for public use.
Add files and audio when more detail is needed
An announcement can include supporting files and an audio message alongside its written description. This is useful when a short notice needs a detailed circular, a list of instructions, or a spoken explanation.
For a school trip, staff could attach the trip instructions and use the description to highlight the reporting time and items students should bring. Keeping these details with the announcement makes the notice easier to refer to later.
Keep important notices easy to find
Pin an important announcement so it remains prominent in the announcement list. Staff can update the announcement when its information changes.
Schools can enable comments on announcements and configure comment visibility. This gives users a place to discuss a notice when the school chooses to allow it. Authorised staff can also review recorded views through the announcement view log.
Notify users when an announcement is published
With notification settings and the relevant templates enabled, publishing an announcement can generate in-app notifications and send email and mobile push alerts to eligible recipients. Email uses recorded addresses, while device alerts depend on registered app devices.
The module also provides separate SMS and WhatsApp messaging tools for preparing additional reminders. This lets the office keep the full circular in the announcement area and prepare a shorter message when needed.
