When installing a ScriptMint product, you will be asked to enter an Access Code (also called an Activation Code) during the final step of the installation process.
This guide explains what an Access Code is, why it is required, and how to generate one.
What is an Access Code?
An Access Code is a unique code generated for a specific domain or subdomain where you intend to install a ScriptMint product.
Unlike an Envato Purchase Code, an Access Code is tied to the installation domain. This helps verify your license and prevents unauthorized use of purchased products.
Each installation requires its own Access Code.
For example:
| Installation URL | Requires Separate Access Code |
|---|---|
https://erp.example.com |
✅ Yes |
https://school.example.com |
✅ Yes |
https://demo.example.com |
✅ Yes |
http://domain.test (Local Development) |
✅ Yes |
Why is an Access Code Required?
When you purchase a product from Envato or ScriptMint, you receive a Purchase Code that proves ownership of the license.
However, a Purchase Code alone cannot prevent it from being shared publicly or used on unauthorized installations.
To protect both customers and developers, every installation must be activated using an Access Code that is generated specifically for the intended domain.
This approach provides several benefits:
- Prevents unauthorized sharing of purchase codes.
- Allows you to manage your installations yourself.
- Makes it easy to move your application from one domain to another.
- Eliminates the need to contact ScriptMint every time you migrate your application.
How to Generate an Access Code
Step 1
Visit:

Sign in using one of the following methods:
- Envato Account (recommended for Envato purchases)
- Google Account
- GitHub Account
If you purchased your product from Envato, make sure you sign in using the same Envato account that was used to purchase the product.
Step 2
Open the Licenses page:

All eligible purchases associated with your account will be displayed.
Select the product for which you want to generate an Access Code.
Step 3
Add the domain or subdomain where you intend to install the application.

Examples:
Live Server
https://erp.example.com
or
https://example.com
Local Development
http://domain.test
or
http://school.test
Each domain or virtual host will have its own Access Code.
Step 4
Generate the Access Code.

Once generated, copy the following information:
- Registered Email Address
- Access Code
These values are required during the final step of the installation wizard.
Regular License
If you purchased an Envato Regular License, only one live installation can remain active at any given time, as permitted by the Envato license terms. :contentReference[oaicite:0]
You may register multiple domains in your ScriptMint account, but only one live domain can be active at a time.
For example:
| Domain | Status |
|---|---|
erp.example.com |
✅ Active |
demo.example.com |
Inactive |
client.example.com |
Inactive |
If you activate another domain, the previously active live domain will automatically become inactive. :contentReference[oaicite:1]
This makes it easy to migrate your installation without contacting ScriptMint support.
Extended License
If you purchased an Envato Extended License, you may have multiple live installations active simultaneously, subject to the applicable license terms. :contentReference[oaicite:2]
Each installation still requires its own Access Code.
Can I Use an Access Code on Another Domain?
No.
Every Access Code is generated specifically for the domain or subdomain you registered.
If you move your application to another domain, simply:
- Log in to your ScriptMint account.
- Register the new domain.
- Generate a new Access Code.
- Activate the new installation.
No manual approval from ScriptMint is required.
Do I Need a Separate Access Code for Local Development?
Yes.
Your local Virtual Host is treated as a separate installation.
Examples:
http://domain.test
http://erp.test
http://school.local
Each local development URL requires its own Access Code.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I use my Purchase Code directly?
A Purchase Code only verifies that you own a license.
An Access Code verifies both:
- Your ownership of the license.
- The domain where the product is installed.
This provides better license protection and allows you to manage installations yourself. :contentReference[oaicite:3]
Will changing my domain invalidate my installation?
Yes.
Since Access Codes are domain-specific, moving the application to another domain requires generating a new Access Code.
Do I need to contact ScriptMint when moving my application?
No.
Simply generate a new Access Code for the new domain through your ScriptMint account.
Can I have multiple local development environments?
Yes.
Each Virtual Host requires its own Access Code.
Examples:
erp.testschool.testdemo.test
I cannot see my purchase in the Licenses page.
Verify the following:
- You are signed in with the correct account.
- If purchased through Envato, sign in using your Envato account.
- Your purchase has been completed successfully.
If the issue persists, contact ScriptMint Support with your purchase details.
