Version summary

What changed in InstiKit 5.7.0

InstiKit 5.7.0 is a broad product release focused on helping institutions manage more of their daily academic, residential, financial, and communication workflows from one place. The update is especially important for schools that need tighter control over campus occupancy visibility, and secure access without adding more fragmented tools.

Communication and day-to-day engagement

InstiKit 5.7.0 also makes communication much more interactive. The new discussion board introduces comments, reactions, and file attachments, while existing content areas such as diary, announcements, assignments, events, and learning materials now support comments, reactions, and audio recording with playback. That gives teachers, students, and administrators more flexible ways to respond, explain, and collaborate directly inside the platform.

Campus operations and student services

Beyond academics, this release strengthens operational coverage across campus services. New and improved modules support meal coupons, curriculum mapping, hostel room allotment and attendance, residence occupancy reporting, transport attendance reporting, and richer student wallet workflows including transfers, account access, and purchase visibility. These additions are aimed at institutions that need better tracking across both classroom and non-classroom activities.

Branding, identity, and security

Public-facing presentation and access control both move forward in this version. The website theme system now supports custom colors and introduces the new Academia theme, giving schools more control over how the platform looks online. At the same time, ID card handling is more capable with dedicated template endpoints, double side printing, and signature or webcam support, while TOTP based two factor authentication adds a stronger layer of login security for administrators and staff.
